Despite sudden blizzard conditions a group of die-hard onsite wastewater contractors braved the weather and participated in a site and soils field day near Okotoks on April 16.

The ground wasn’t frozen, so participants were able to learn how to determine soils horizons and identify soils characteristics in situ and log them in preparation for designing the system.

Stephanie Munn, P. Ag, taught the class, with assistance from AOWMA instructor Chad Widmer. AOWMA Board member, Clayton Foster, provided the site and equipment to dig the test pits.
