Convention and Trade Show News Update

The early bird date is fast approaching. Take advantage of lower convention rates by registering online or getting your registration forms in by January 23. Don’t forget to book your hotel rooms at the reduced AOWMA rate.

Take advantage of the training opportunities available at the convention and touch base with all of the suppliers in the industry in one place.

Participate in the Septic Summit program on Thursday, February 21. This session will focus on issues that impact the industry. Presentations will focus on enforcement, compliance, regulatory issues, policies that impact the onsite wastewater industry, homeowner permits, etc. A Certified Pump Installer workshop is also available to those interested.

For those maintaining primary and advanced treatment systems, our supplier community is sponsoring a series of presentations on the maintenance of advanced treatment systems on February 22.

The Trade Show is open at no cost to anyone interested all day on February 22 and for part of the day on February 23. Visit the booths, see new products and technologies and participate in the educational and technical sessions hosted and sponsored by our exhibitors. There is always something to learn.

Saturday, February 23 holds a full slate of educational presentations and open forums. Check out the convention schedule of events or see our updates and news on the convention and trade show.

Finally for those wanting to stay on, there is an excellent soils seminar on Sunday, February 24. Kent Watson from Thompson Rivers University will be presenting on Problem Soils in Your Backyard. Kent has many years of experience as a soils scientist and teacher. His seminar is fascinating for those wanting to learn more about the difficult soils we work with in Alberta.
