A STANDATA has been released by Alberta Municipal Affairs regarding training for Private Sewage.

Under the STANDATA, those holding a current Certificate of Competency in Private Sewage are being notified of the training requirements for obtaining and maintaining their Certificate of Competency.

Current holders of a Certificate of Competency will be required to participate in Standard of Practice Update training within one year of the release of the 2020 Standard of Practice.  It is anticipated that this Standard of Practice will be released in early 2021.
Those wishing to obtain a Certificate of Competency must complete the Onsite Wastewater Practitioner Training Program.

Both training opportunities are offered by the Alberta Onsite Wastewater Management Association.

Contact the AOWMA for information on upcoming training events, and information on prerequisites or continuing education.  SOP Update Training is considered to be required continuing education for those holding a Certificate of Competency.
