Site & Soils Evaluations

Twenty-five students attended a Site and Soils Evaluation Field Day at Jackfish Lake on May 18, 2018. The weather co-operated beautifully and a productive day was spent, analyzing and logging soils.  Students had the benefit of not only getting some hands-on experience, but also having the Technical Administrator for the Province of Alberta, Dean Morin, on-site to provide in-put to the training process.  Thank you to association member, Garret Berube, for providing the site and equipment for the training day.

Site and Soils Evaluation Field Days are a mandatory component of the Onsite Wastewater Practitioner Training Program and are also open to those interested in learning more about performing detailed site visits and designing systems for difficult situations and soils.  This training workshop provides information on assessing soil structure and texture, assessing site conditions and constraints, logging information and applying that knowledge to the design of onsite systems.

For those who missed out on the recent workshop, another Site and Soils Evaluation day will be held on July 13, 2018 in High River.
