Persons that currently have an Alberta Private Sewage Certificate of Competency (PS ticket) must successfully complete an Update Training Course on the Alberta Private Sewage Systems Standard of Practice 2015. The update training must be successfully completed by March 31, 2017. After that date, a person who has not completed the update training will not qualify for renewing a Private Sewage Certificate of Competency.

To-date, nine SOP Update sessions have been delivered, with a total of 246 contractors trained. Sessions have been held in: Athabasca, Calgary (2), Edmonton (3), Grande Prairie, Lethbridge and Red Deer. A session planned for Medicine Hat was cancelled due to lack of registration.

The Alberta Onsite Wastewater Management Association (AOWMA) is delivering the required update course on the 2015 Standard of Practice. These courses will be provided at numerous locations around the province. Registration is now open in the following locations:

April 29, 2016 – Red Deer
May 5, 2016 – Lethbridge
May 18, 2016 – Edmonton
May 19, 2016 – High River
