Attached please find the delegate information for the 14th Annual Convention and Trade Show being held on January 26 – 28, 2012 in Edmonton, AB.
The industry has seen significant challenges over the past couple of years, with a new, more stringent SOP, lack of effective enforcement and higher flow rates leading to much larger, more sophisticated and more expensive systems. All these issues will be addressed during the convention program in Edmonton. AOWMA has invited Alberta Municipal Affairs and the Safety Codes Council and other stakeholders to attend and participate in presentations and open forums to discuss these and other industry issues and concerns.
This convention has been set up a little differently than those in the past, with a different format for the trade show and a variety of programs and pricing models for the delegates. AOWMA is pleased to welcome back Jim Anderson and Dave Gustafson from the University of Minnesota, to provide an Operation and Maintenance Workshop series. This workshop is a recognized certification program through the National Waste Transporters Association (NAWT) and successful candidates will be listed on the NAWT website upon completion in recognition of this training. The workshop is part of the convention program for convention delegates, however parties interested in just attending the workshop may do so at a separate price point from the full convention program.
In recognition of the busy lifestyles we are all subject to, the convention program has become more flexible, allowing delegates who are unable to attend the entire convention program have the option of attending for either a half day or a full day.
The trade show is always a draw for delegates and the exhibitors will once again be displaying their products and providing technical sessions during the trade show program. As usual there is no charge to attend the trade show, so please come out and support the industry suppliers and manufacturers. It is their participation that enables this event to take place.
Over the next few weeks, updated information on the schedule of events will be made available through emails, mail outs and faxes, or check it out on our website at www.aowma.com
See you in Edmonton!
