WCOWMA hosted its annual Septic Awareness Week from September 14–18, 2026. During that week three Septic Sense webinars were held for homeowners in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. The British Columbia Septic Sense webinar was postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.
A total of one hundred participants joined presenters from the three provinces to learn about proper operation and maintenance of their septic system and the importance of using a certified contractor to perform regular maintenance.
The Septic Awareness Week sessions help to promote the Association’s Septic Sense public education program which provides individual education sessions to municipal districts, counties, and other organizations upon request.
Onsite wastewater treatment systems are a permanent part of infrastructure planning. Understanding their importance and environmental impact is critical for those homeowners living in areas unserviced by centralized sewer.
The recordings of these sessions are now available.
